Matthew David

Matthew David Matthew David is a writer and director based out of New York City, formerly a professional child actor with over 15 years in the business.  He is a member of Actor’s Equity Association and has performed Off- Broadway in New York City, on National Tours and at regional theatres across the country. As a writer, he has had numerous pieces produced around the country, his work most recently having been seen regionally. His plays have received readings with Tony Ward nominees and runs in New York City. David is currently involved with an upcoming Broadway musical, soon to be announced, and recently oversaw the recording of his first full-length rock musical score. He has taught classes at some of the most well respected education institutions in the country, including John Robert Powers and several other institutions and has worked for several seasons at the Colonie Summer Theatre.

'Anyone for a Classy Threesome: A Night of Multimedia Adaptations!' is an evening of one act plays currently being produced by JustASK Productions. The individual plays are entitled: 'Spinner Spirits Presents Showpiece Theatre Starring Rex McDeevit' by P. Case Aiken III, '1,001 Peorian Nights' by Adam Samtur and 'Song Five, Circle Two' by Matthew Kagen. According to the program, the three plays were inspired by 'Othello,' '1,001 Peorian Nights' and 'Dante's Inferno' respectively.

If you have ever spent an afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and had the opportunity to study some of the sketches done by Michelangelo Buonarroti or Leonardo Da Vinci you will be able to understand the feeling that accompanies seeing a lesser work by a creative genius. The drawings are fascinating, eerily beautiful and perhaps ultimately more revealing than the artist's more famous works - still you are always acutely aware that you are observing sketches and not the Mona Lisa or The David.
