Known for her energetic stage shows and pioneering presence as a female artist, the one-and-only Wanda Jackson - popularly known as the Queen of Rockabilly and the First Lady of Rock & Roll - has returned to Nashville to work on new music. Fellow female Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame member, Joan Jett, is producing the project. The as-yet-unnamed project is currently anticipated for a 2019 release. After decades of recording covers, Jackson hit the writing room for this project, co-writing with many hit Nashville songwriters including Angaleena Presley of the Pistol Annies. 'Ex's and Oh's' singer Elle King also contributed a song to the project.

Pathway to Paris today announced a special concert on September 16 at The Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. Helping to cap off the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco, the concert will focus on the potential for cities to push for, achieve, and go beyond the climate targets highlighted in the Paris Agreement.

More metal munching madness is headed to Science Channel as the network has picked up rights to air the robot fighting series ROBOT WARS. Filmed in an enormous bulletproof fighting arena that contains dangerous hazards such as fire, spikes, the flipper and the iconic pit, 40 of the top robot combat teams from all over the world compete for Robot Wars supremacy. ROBOT WARS is set for its U.S. premiere on Wednesday, August 8 at 10pm ET/PT.

Expanding on the popular podcast “Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations,” OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today it will launch the podcast version of its Emmy-nominated series “Oprah's Master Class” on Apple Podcasts. A sneak preview of the podcast featuring actor and producer Dwayne Johnson is available today, July 17, and the podcast will officially debut on Thursday, July 19 with hip-hop innovator and entrepreneur Jay-Z. Well-Strung, the innovative and eclectic New York City-based string quartet that derives their unique blend of vocals and strings by fusing classical music with the pop music of today, has announced that their latest album, Under the Covers will be released September 14, 2018. Their third album, Under the Covers will feature a collection of covers that combine everyone from Lady Gaga and Vivaldi to Queen and Rossini.  The quartet, who have quickly gained international attention, playing in London, Rome and Vienna and selling out venues all across the United States, features Edmund Bagnell (first violin), Christopher Marchant (second violin), Daniel Shevlin (cello) and Trevor Wadleigh (viola). Taking equal cues from the Flying Nun school of arty guitar pop, classic British post-punk and otherwise Velvets-indebted rock, Chicago's Clearance mixes eras and styles with ease (you're likely to hear as much Parquet Courts as the Soft Boys, for instance) and the result is a focused but coolly off-the-cuff sound that appeals to both the record-collector/fanzine set and casual rock fans alike. 

The Crossing, winner of the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance, releases its next album, Lansing McLoskey: Zealot Canticles on September 28, 2018 on Innova Recordings. Based on Nigerian Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka's 'Twelve Canticles for the Zealot' - a strangely beautiful and terrifying look into the minds of fanatics - Lansing McLoskey's Zealot Canticles is a concert-length choral 'oratorio' for clarinet, string quartet, and 24-voice choir. The work makes virtuosic demands on all the artists, particularly on the clarinetist, here, Philadelphia's Doris Hall-Galuti. The string quartet on the album is comprised of violinists Rebecca Harris and Mandy Wolman, violist Lorenzo Raval, and cellist Arlen Hlusko.

RLJE Films and UMC (Urban Movie Channel), brands of RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE), have acquired all North American rights to the upcoming Unified Pictures thriller Ride. The film stars Bella Thorne (“Famous in Love,” “Shake It Up”), Jessie T. Usher (Shaft, “Survivor's Remorse”) and Will Brill (“The OA”). RIDE marks the feature film debut of writer-director Jeremy Ungar. RLJE plans to release the film nationally in theaters, VOD and Digital HD this Fall.

Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, today announced its first slate of films and series based on the stories of Mark Millar. Netflix acquired Millar's company, Millarworld, last year and since then has been developing projects with Mark and Lucy Millar, including The Magic Order, which has been published as Netflix's first comic book and was the biggest selling new comic-book franchise in nearly 20 years.  

According to Deadline, One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush and Patriot star Michael Dormanhave been tapped as the leads in Hard Luck Love Song, an indie from Synthetic Pictures and Dime Box Entertainment based on the song “Just Like Old Times” by Todd Snider. Justin Corsbie is directing the film from a script he co-wrote with Craig Ugoretz.
