The Shakespeare Theatre Company's annual Free For All is a much-loved Washington tradition, offering free Shakespeare performances to the general public for the past 21 years. This year the beloved tradition kicks off the Company's 2012-2013 Season by reviving All's Well That Ends Well, initially presented during the 2010-2011 Season with original direction from STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn. All's Well That Ends Well will run at STC's Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from August 23-September 5, 2012. Resident Assistant Director Jenny Lord will direct this perfect summer capstone for residents and visitors to D.C.

In August of 2000, a small group of cultural arts administrators - all of whom were responsible for accessibility at their respective cultural arts organization - gathered at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to discuss institutional cultural arts and disability issues. While the level of experience among participants ranged from more than 20 years in the field to less than six months on the job, everyone shared one common goal: the desire to create accessible cultural arts programs that are inclusive of people with disabilities and older adults.

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announces 80 Our Town grant awards totaling $4.995 million and reaching 44 states and the District of Columbia. Cedar City's Office of Economic Development is one of the grantees and will receive up to $50,000 for landscape design, linking the Utah Shakespeare Festival with the city's historic downtown. The Festival will match the grant amount to help complete this project.

Mayor Michael A. Nutter joined members of Philadelphia's visual arts community this morning to celebrate the creation of two new Community Supported Art (CSA) programs that will help strengthen the relationship between local artists and their community. The programs, based on a successful model developed by Minnesota's Springboard for the Arts, are being replicated here in Philadelphia thanks to support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

This major site-specific installation will include nine monumental sculptures made of polyester resin, with mosaics of ceramic, mirror and stained glass, towering as high as 16 feet and as wide as 13 feet. It will feature Saint Phalle's signature nanas and totems, as well as works from her iconic Black Heroes series depicting legendary jazz musicians and athletes.
