After selling out almost all of its originally scheduled performances, The Flea Theater announces an extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. Previews began August 31, with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 19. Originally scheduled to end October 7, performances will now run through November 3.

Vincent Lancisi, Artistic Director and Founder of Baltimore's Everyman Theatre, will speak at the University of Maryland Baltimore County's Grand Opening of the new Performing Arts and Humanities Building on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Mr. Lancisi will be a part of the New Space presentation, scheduled to take place at UMBC's new building from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Kentucky Center urges patrons attending the Saturday, September 22 performance of Richard Kogan at the IdeaFestival at 8 p.m. to allow for extra time for transportation and parking. A simultaneous performance of "Wicked" at the Center and a concert at the KFC Yum! Center will likely cause congestion on downtown streets and in local parking lots.

Submissions for The New York Children's Theater Festival will be accepted October 1 through November 12, 2012, it was announced today by Festival co-founders Michael Shawn Lewis, Chelsey Shannon and Renee Barnett. The Sundance Institute Theatre Program is now accepting submissions for the 2013 Sundance Institute Theatre Lab, which will return to the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah. Under the supervision of Philip Himberg, Artistic Director, and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the three-week Lab (July 8-28, 2013) is the centerpiece of the Theatre Program's year-round work and is designed to develop emerging and established artists and to create a place where their original work can be effectively mentored and challenged.

Opening the 36th season at Theatre Lawrence is 9 to 5: The Musical, a comedy based on the 1980 hit movie with Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin. Dolly Parton wrote the music and lyrics for the stage version, which includes 'Around Here,' 'Backwoods Barbie,' 'Get Out and Stay Out,' and the signature song, '9 to 5.' Based on the book by Patricia Resnick, this is a hilarious comedy about friendship and workplace vengeance.
