On Thurs., November 8, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents 'The American Songbook' where all may test their skills with a Music Trivia Contest. Questions could be about a movie featuring a famous song written by Cole Porter, Bruce Springsteen, or Woodie Guthrie, or what were those lyrics to a song sung by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, or Dolly Parton? How about what song was sung in which Broadway musical? To add to the fun, music is performed live by Chris Sooy, Lew London, and Grace Wright, and winners receive prizes. The evening begins at 5:30p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. At 6:00p.m. is a sumptuous dinner, and at 7:00, the competition begins! The MCs for the evening are Mark Lang and Scott Eck.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the musical about three friends on the road trip of a lifetime, will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012. Called "a rollicking crowd-pleaser in sequins" by Variety, Priscilla will make its national tour debut at the Trust's Orpheum Theatre January 8-13, 2013. Chicago Shakespeare Theater launched the 2012/13 Season with three critically acclaimed productions and announces today extended runs as follows.

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Founder & Artistic Director), in association with Innocence Project, Marc & Steven Kaplan, and Cheryl Wiesenfeld, has announced a 4-week extension of the acclaimed 10th anniversary production of the hit award-winning play, The Exonerated, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen. New block of tickets now on sale through December 2nd at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street at Lafayette Street) where performances began September 15th.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that Tony-winning actress/singer Daisy Eagan will be bringing her concert, "Daisy Eagan: F@¢k Off. I Love You" to the stage on Monday, November 12 at 7pm.

Falling premieres tonight, Monday, October 15th at 7. Terry Schnuck, James & Catherine Berges, Crystal Beuerlein, and Michael & Noemi Neidorff, producers of the new Off-Broadway play, recently announced that they will donate $5 for each full-price ticket purchased for performances in October to Autism Speaks. Ghouls, goblins and ghosts beware - East Lansing is in for a scare. This October, in coordination with its student organization the Society of Performers and Arts Management (S.P.A.M.)*, MSU Department of Theatre presents the fourth annual Haunted Aud! An experience which promises to be frighteningly theatrical, guests will venture through the remnants of its haunted theatre, bearing witness to the terrors of long tormented spirits. The Aud will open its doors for three nights only, running from October 26 through October 28.

Already in this young season, Rene Pape has given a star turn as Philip II in Verdi's Don Carlos at the Vienna State Opera and made his recital debut at La Scala in Milan. The German singer - "the world's most charismatic bass," according to Opera News - is currently reprising his acclaimed Wotan at the Berlin State Opera in a production of Die Walkure conducted by Daniel Barenboim.
