The San Francisco Early Music Society's 2012-13 season resumes the first weekend of February with a concert by Music of the Spheres. The trio of Jeanne Johnson, Joanna Blendulf, and Yuko Tanaka will perform an early Valentine of French baroque music, spinning confections for violin, harpsichord, and viola da gamba, interspersed with thoughts on love by famous French authors. The program will include favorites by such giants of the age as Marin Marais, François Couperin, and Jean-Philippe Rameau as well as less familiar works by inspired musical pioneers Jean-Marie Leclair, Jean-Féry Rebel, and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award, delves into the 2012-2013 Season with an intimate look at two lonely souls in Eugene O'Neill's Hughie. This two-man show by one of the most famous American playwrights will be directed by Broadway veteran Doug Hughes. The production runs at STC's Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW) from January 31-March 17, 2013.

Emmy Award-winning writer, Greg Fitzsimmons, will be returning to the Comix At Foxwoods stage for four shows next year with performances Thursday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m., Friday, Mar. 1 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 2 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The final show will be one not for the faint of heart or easily offended, as fans will be welcomed to witness a "Nasty Show with Greg Fitzsimmons." Lines will be crossed and common decency will be left at the door during this final uproarious performance.

Grammy-winning alternative band Deftones will be kicking off a tour of North America on March 4, 2013. The headlining run begins in Rochester, NY and wraps March 30 in Houston, TX. Deftones have also rescheduled their New York City and Boston, MA show dates, which had previously been postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. Tickets go on sale December 21st. KOI NO YOKAN, the band's seventh studio album, was released November 13th via Warner Bros Records. It debuted at #11 on the Billboard Charts Top 200 chart, with over 65k sold first week, and the first single 'Tempest' is currently #8 and climbing at Rock Radio. KOI NO YOKAN has also met with critical acclaim.

The program opens with the legendary Leopold Stokowski's orchestration of Johann Sebastian Bach's Cantata "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme" ("Sleepers Awake") and closes with Johannes Brahms's majestic Symphony No. 1.
