Melbourne Theatre Company will welcome its new leadership team - Artistic Director Brett Sheehy and Executive Director Virginia Lovett - as the Company celebrates sixty years with an exciting new season and direction.

Tonight, Monday, January 21, 2013, the longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., will welcome Broadway and West End star Sierra Boggess to the New York cast. Ms. Boggess will play a strictly-limited engagement as leading lady Christine Daaé for 6 weeks through Saturday, March 2.

Renowned silhouette artist, Deborah O'Connor, will createindividual portraits cut entirely freehand from paper, using scissors as her only tool, at the Custom House Maritime Museum on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 1 to 5 PM. Guests pose for instant silhouettes, which they can take home--the perfect Valentine memento. 'Cutting silhouettes is basically drawing with a pair of scissors. The only difference is you can't make any mistakes, as there is no erasing,' Ms. O'Connor says. Working with children, adults and even pets, finished silhouettes are mounted on white or ivory archival quality card stock.

Poetic Theater Productions will present Poetic License, the second annual festival of new poetic theater, January 21st through January 27th, 2013. Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are pleased to announce the cast and creative team for Girlfriend. This irresistible rock musical begins previews January 29 and 30, opens January 31 and runs through February 17.
