The American Museum of Natural History's One Step Beyond party series kicks off its sixth season with DJ sets by Foster the People, Javelin, and Dopeshoes in the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Hall of the Universe on Friday, February 15.

Portland Ovations announced this week that they punctuate their 2012-13 season by bringing back the international percussion sensation STOMP to Merrill Auditorium on May 15th and 16th.

This comedy of the heart explores the mysterious language of love, which often fails when it is needed most. Company of Fools, part of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, finishes its 17th season with Distracted by Lisa Loomer running February 13 - March 1 at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. Time Out NY called Distracted a "My favorite comedy of the year!' The play examines the perplexing and emotional journey of two parents hoping to make the best treatment decision of treatment for their son's Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Distracted, which premiered in Los Angeles in 2007 and made its Off-Broadway debut in 2010, is a sharp, chaotically entertaining riff on the challenges of parenting in the modern age.

As the Sundance Film Festival whirls through Park City, students are getting in on the action. This week, a select group of filmmakers arrive at Park City High School to screen their films (or clips of their work) and to engage students in discussion on everything from AIDs treatment and educational access to film animation and screenwriting. The 2013 Filmmakers in the Classroom program, a joint effort of Sundance Institute and Park City Performing Arts Foundation's (PCPAF) Student Outreach Program, runs January 22 through 25.
