David Cromer to Lead TimeLine Theatre Company's THE NORMAL HEARTJanuary 24, 2013TimeLine Theatre Company announces actor and director David Cromer will star in a revival of the groundbreaking drama THE NORMAL HEART by Larry Kramer, directed by TimeLine Associate Artistic Director Nick Bowling, projected to open in October 2013. This TimeLine Theatre production-the first Chicago staging of the play since its Tony Award-winning Broadway premiere in 2011-will be presented in a limited run at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont in Chicago. The performance schedule, along with additional productions in TimeLine's 2013-14 season, are still to be announced.
Lenny Clarke Set to Visit Comix At Foxwoods Beginning March 28January 24, 2013Best known for both his role as Uncle Teddy on FX's hit series, "Rescue Me," and his thick Boston accent, Lenny Clarke will visit the Comix At Foxwoods stage for four shows this March with performances Thursday, Mar. 28 at 8 p.m. and Friday, Mar. 29 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 30 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The final show will be one not for the faint of heart or easily offended, as fans will be welcomed to witness a "Nasty Show with Lenny Clarke." Lines will be crossed and common decency will be left at the door during this final uproarious performance.

The Generic Theater Launches Acting Studio Program For AdultsJanuary 24, 2013In its repositioning as Virginia's Pro-Am resident theater, The Generic Theater launches an 8-week Acting Studio Program as a response to a growing desire from area actors who seek training. The program is an initiative to support The Generic's visionary pillar of provide access to theater education and training. Last year, Generic Theater for Kids was launched as a response to a need for affordable acting classes for children ages 5 through 18. The program has seen tremendous growth. It has attracted like-minded people who believe in Norfolk's presence and impact in the American theater landscape.
