The Australian Premiere of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic play Driving Miss Daisy will be held tomorrow evening, Saturday February 9, 2013 at the Playhouse, QPAC, Brisbane. The production stars two of the world's greatest living actors- five-time Tony Award and three-time Academy Award nominee Angela Lansbury and two-time Tony Award winner and Academy Award winner James Earl Jones, alongside four-time Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines.

Women's Project Theater's widely-acclaimed and packed-house production of Laura Marks's world premiere dark comedy Bethany, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, will close as scheduled Sunday, February 17, after the 2:30pm matinee to make way for Tina Benko in the North American Premiere of Jackie by Nobel Prize winner and author of The Piano Teacher, Elfriede Jelinek, directed by Tea Alagic.

Dwayne Croft will sing the role of Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen on February 9, 13, and 16, replacing Teddy Tahu Rhodes, who determined in rehearsals that the role was no longer suitable for his voice. In August 2012, one line from one play changed Ugandan history. "I'm gay" was uttered by the main character from The River and the Mountain, making it the first Ugandan play ever to have an openly gay character. Due to this the producer of the play, David Cecil, was arrested for offending the Ministry of Ethics in Uganda.
