'America, open your arms to a poor wandering soul.' These opening lyrics set the tone for this epic musical adventure. Set in 1907 (the peak immigration year), this sweeping musical tracks the lives of two Irish immigrant couples as they struggle to make a life for themselves in New York City. The story unfolds against a backdrop of the fight for women's suffrage and the contrasting lifestyles of the super rich and New York's underclass.

In the first of several high-profile appearances this season, Italian bass-baritone Luca Pisaroni earned universal acclaim for his star turn as Leporello in the Metropolitan Opera's new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni, which ran from October 13-November 11. He sang alongside such talents as Peter Mattei and Mariusz Kwiecien (as Don Giovanni), Barbara Frittoli (Donna Elvira) and Ramón Vargas (Don Ottavio), led by Met principal conductor Fabio Luisi.

The Little Shop cast stars these local teens: Lyon Hamill, Flynn Holman, TJ Kaiser, Sophie Ledingham, Zoe Levine, Marissa McKinney, Egbert Ospina, Kidd Solomon, Luke Wampler and Keillor Wright.

The new core publishing and copyright acquisition places Golijov alongside Boosey & Hawkes' remarkable roster of distinguished composers, including modern masters such as Bartók, Copland, and Stravinsky, as well as leading contemporary figures such as John Adams, Louis Andriessen, Elliott Carter, and Steve Reich. The relationship between Golijov and Boosey & Hawkes began in July 2009, when Golijov signed an exclusive agreement for representation of his existing catalog and future works.

At a press conference on Tuesday, November 15, Florida Studio Theatre announced a multi-year capital improvement campaign to renovate the 6,000 sq. foot Gompertz Theatre and construct an 18,000 sq. foot addition with two new theatre spaces. The $5.6 million dollar campaign is the largest capital program in the 37-year old theatre's history and will double the number of renovated stages on the theatre's campus located in Sarasota's historic downtown.

Shana Halligan, former lead singer of sultry trip-hop duo Bitter:Sweet, is gearing up for the launch of her debut solo EP, Paper Butterfly, the first release from imprint label, Unknown Breakthrough, which counts Robb McDaniels (Co-founder, INgrooves) and Rob Garza (Thievery Corporation, ESL) among its owners. The five-song EP will be released digitally by INgrooves on November 29, 2011 followed by a full-length release in 2012.
