Sydney Theatre Company's box office today processed the 20,000th Season Ticket for the 2010 Main Stage Season. This is the highest number of Season Tickets (six-play minimum packages) that the Company has sold since 2005 and is more than 3000 above last year - an 18% increase.

General Manager Rob Brookman said: "I'm thrilled we've reached this milestone - but hopefully there's still more to come. Its still possible to buy Season Tickets which include even the most popular shows such as Uncle Vanya featuring Cate Blanchett, John Bell, Richard Roxburgh and Hugo Weaving and Long Day's Journey Into Night featuring William Hurt and Robyn Nevin but I'd urge people to be quick!"

Season Ticket purchasers and casual ticket buyers have responded with enthusiasm to the 2010 Season. When single tickets went on general sale on 1 December 2009, the Company's all-time one day box office sales record was broken, with more than 5,000 tickets sold on the one day.
Exceptional value are the ‘Under 30's Season Tickets' enabling anyone under 30 years of age to see any six plays throughout the season for less than $200. Seasons extended beyond initial dates in 2010 are:

Optimism (now finished)

Spring Awakening (finishing this Sunday, 7 March)

Stockholm

Oresteia

The Trial

Our Town

True West

Uncle Vanya
