RECEPTION: THE MUSICAL Will Play Two Final Performances at The Butterfly Club Image

HOLD THE PHONE! Following sold-out seasons, national tours, awards and nominations, Reception: The Musical will wrap its dream run with TWO final performances at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November 2017.

Inspired by true stories from behind the front desk, Reception: The Musical tells the story of a receptionist who finds joy in the manic world of customer service and stationery orders. It's off the hook - the ultimate 'celebration of administration'.

Reception: The Musical is a must-see for office workers and theatre lovers everywhere. Bursting with puns and pens, this uplifting, two-hander cabaret comedy features relatable stories, over 15 memorable characters and 12 original show tunes ranging from operetta to rap! Songs include My Name is Bethany (Not Stephanie), Do You Have Sticky Tape and They Ring My Bell.

After each performance, audiences are invited to join the cast for the 'office party' in the bar - complete with memo board, post-it notes and a chance to share your own admin stories.

Written and performed by Bethany Simons and Peter de Jager. This musical duo met at a Melbourne music academy where Peter was studying classical piano and Bethany (a trained actor) was working as the receptionist! They wrote Reception: The Musical during lunch breaks and have since toured the country empowering office workers from Ouyen to Charters Towers! Bethany's work has toured extensively throughout Australia and been nominated for four Green Room Awards. Peter de Jager is one of Australia's finest young musicians, acclaimed for his virtuosity as a pianist, harpsichordist and composer.

Choreographed by Joseph Simons. Produced by Bethany Simons and Critical Stages.
