At a star studded event held tonight in the Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House JERSEY BOYS - The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons won the most coveted Helpmann Award to be presented - Best Musical.  The Helpmann Awards celebrate excellence and achievement in live performance.
 
In addition the show won Best Music Direction - Ron Melrose & Luke Hunter.
 
To top off the evening the cast of the show performed live at the Awards Ceremony and received a prolonged standing screaming ovation.  The Awards Ceremony was broadcast live on STVDIO, channel 132 on Foxtel.

Jersey Boys is already the recipient of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical, winner of the Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and winner of seven Victorian Green Room Awards.
After 14 months in Melbourne and being seen by nearly 600,000 patrons and playing 453 sold out performances JERSEY BOYS - The Story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons is now previewing at Sydney's Theatre Royal with the Official Opening Night taking place on Saturday 18 September 2010.
 
The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.  JERSEY BOYS features all their hits including Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Oh What A Night, Walk Like A Man, Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Working My Way Back To You and many more.
