Helpmann Award Nominees Announced Today, August 6!
A list of nominations in each of the 41 categories for the Helpmann Awards will be announced in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane concurrently today, Monday 6 August at 6pm at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney, Arts Centre, Melbourne and QPAC, Brisbane. Simon Burke will host the Announcement Event in Sydney, Bert LaBonte will host in Melbourne, and Bille Brown AM will host in Brisbane.
In Sydney the Hon. George Souris, NSW Minister for the Arts, will announce the name of the 2nd recipient of the coveted 2012 JC Williamson AwardTM, awarded to distinguished members of Australia's live entertainment industry for their extraordinary contribution to the industry.
In Melbourne, the Brian Stacey Award for Emerging Australian Conductors will also be announced.
The 2012 Helpmann Awards Ceremony, the 12th presentation of the Awards, will be held on Monday 24 September at 8pm at the Opera Theatre, Sydney Opera House.
