Winter is coming to the Atlanta Film Festival as HBO prepares to debut the season premiere of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.On Sunday, April 14, the Atlanta Film Festival will conclude its final day of festivities by airing the first episode of the final season of Game of Thrones. Fans are invited to enjoy the premiere for free starting at 9:00 PM at the Plaza Theatre. Based on the popular book series A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R.R. Martin, this hit Emmy-winning fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power in a vast and violent fantasy kingdom. First premiering in 2011, the eighth season premiere marks the beginning of the end of the series and brings fans one step closer to the long-awaited end of the quest for the Iron Throne.On the night of the Season 8 Premiere, fans are encouraged to sport their best Westeros costumes to invoke the bold Game of Thrones spirit. Following the presentation, there will be a festival wrap party held at the Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge that is open to festival badge-holders only.
