RiverCenter for the Performing Arts Presents ALADDIN AND OTHER ENCHANTING TALES Tonight
Join us for an evening of enchantment as we journey to the wondrous world of Aladdin and Other Enchanting Tales!
Set to the music of Rimsky-Korsakov, with stunning costumes, masks, puppets, illusion and mime, this Enchantment Theatre production is sure to soften your heart through the great tales of Persian literature.
Our storyteller-heroine Scheherazade weaves stories to save her mischievous brother from an evil Sultan's wrath.
Based on One Thousand and One Nights, or Tales from the Arabian Nights, this compilation of fairy tales, fables, and myths, many over 1,000 years old, has influenced such great Western storytellers as Chaucer, Dante, and Shakespeare.
An evil sorceress is transformed into a dragon; a huge genie rises out of a golden lamp; a prince morphs into a monkey.
Just as Scheherazade transforms her Sultan, she will enchant the hearts of the audience with humor, magic, romance and adventure.
Enchantment Theatre has toured its original productions all over the world, appearing each year in more than 40 states. The company has performed at New York's Lincoln Center, Washington, D.C.'s John F. Kennedy Center, and Philadelphia's Kimmel Center and Annenberg Center, just to name a few.
Tickets for kids are only $15. Adult admission is $23. Aladdin and Other Enchanting Tales will run tonight, February 25 at 7:00pm. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rivercenter.org, by phone at 706.256.3612, or in the Box Office, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 5:30pm
