On this very sad day, BroadwayWorld.com will be sharing memories from around the theatre industry. This statement was sent by Terrence D. Jones, president and CEO of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. To contribute your memories, please contact us.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Marvin Hamlisch, our dear friend and colleague. A consummate entertainer, Marvin thrilled Wolf Trap’s audiences for over 25 years. We will remember him for his immense contributions as a Wolf Trap Foundation Board member, whose active involvement helped to sustain the growth of our education programs; as one of the most brilliant composers and conductors in history; and for his significant contributions to the world through his music. Marvin Hamlisch was indeed One Singular Sensation who enriched the lives of all who knew him and his music. He will be sorely missed.
