West End Singer Kelly Glyptis to Join Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra for Independence Day Concert
Glyptis will perform Barber's KNOXVILLE: SUMMER OF 1915 and Great American Songbook selections at Medina Theatre.
International musical theatre and opera performer Kelly Glyptis will joins the IWSO in their international celebration of the 250th United States Independence Day.
Ms. Glyptis will be featured singing Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and a selection of familiar favourites from the Great American Songbook. Among the other featured orchestrations will be the stirring Copland Fanfare for the Common Man and Britten's An American Overture.
This programme showcases the cinematic magic of American music with pieces such as Max Steiner's Suite from Gone with the Wind sweeping us into Hollywood's golden era.
Favourites such as Sousa's Washington Post March and Gershwin's An American in Paris set the party tone, with John Williams' Flying Theme from E.T. a dazzling finale!
The performance will be held 4 July 2026 at 7:15pm at the Medina Theatre on the Isle of Wight, England
