WAITRESS, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE Set For Broadway At The Buddy Holly Hall 2026–27 Season

The American Theatre Guild has announced the 2026–27 BROADWAY AT THE Buddy Holly HALL Series at The Buddy Holly Hall, featuring four touring productions making their Lubbock premieres.

The season will include WAITRESS, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE Neil Diamond MUSICAL, THE BODYGUARD, and KINKY BOOTS, bringing a mix of contemporary hits, musical biographies, and award-winning productions to Lubbock audiences.

“We have a remarkable Season programmed for the 2026–27 Broadway at The Buddy Holly Hall Series,” said Amy Hamm, president and executive director of The American Theatre Guild. “Featuring four Lubbock premieres, our lineup reflects both the future and the very best of today’s theater.”

WAITRESS (LUBBOCK PREMIERE!)

November 20–22, 2026
The Buddy Holly Hall

Featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, WAITRESS follows Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams of a way out of her small town and troubled marriage. Pouring her emotions into her baking, she creates pies that reflect her life, including “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed By My Eggs Pie.” When a baking contest and a new romantic connection offer hope, Jenna must find the courage to change her future.

The musical features a book by Jessie Nelson, choreography by Lorin Latarro, and direction by Diane Paulus, and has been described as “sweet, sassy and passionate.”

A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE Neil Diamond MUSICAL (LUBBOCK PREMIERE!)

A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical tells the story of Neil Diamond, chronicling his rise from Brooklyn to global fame. With over 120 million albums sold and a catalog including “Sweet Caroline,” “America,” and “Forever in Blue Jeans,” the production traces Diamond’s career through a musical memoir format.

The show is presented as an inspiring and high-energy exploration of the artist’s life and music.

THE BODYGUARD (LUBBOCK PREMIERE!)

January 29–31, 2027
The Buddy Holly Hall

Based on the 1992 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, THE BODYGUARD follows a former Secret Service agent hired to protect a superstar from a stalker. As tensions rise, the two develop an unexpected relationship.

The production features songs including “I Will Always Love You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and “Saving All My Love,” alongside a storyline combining romance and suspense.

KINKY BOOTS (LUBBOCK PREMIERE!)

May 7–9, 2027
The Buddy Holly Hall

With music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein, KINKY BOOTS follows an unlikely partnership that transforms a struggling shoe factory. Based on true events, the musical explores themes of identity, acceptance, and change.

The production has received Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Awards for Best Musical and continues to tour internationally.
