On this day in 1989, the Broadway production of Jerome Robbins Broadway opened at the Imperial Theatre.

Jerome Robbins' Broadway is an epic musical anthology that honors the career highlights of Tony Award-winning director and choreographer, Jerome Robbins.

The revue is filled with mesmerizing production numbers from some of Robbins' biggest hits, including West Side Story, On the Town, Peter Pan, The King and I and Fiddler on the Roof.

The original Broadway cast included Jason Alexander, Faith Prince, Scott Wise, Debbie Gravitte, and Charlotte d'Amboise. The show won five 1989 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
