On this day, we're celebrating the birthday of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare!

Author of 38 plays and 154 sonnets, Shakespeare is widely considered the greatest known writer in the English language. The popularity of his works has spanned centuries, up to and including the current Broadway revival of King Lear, starring Glenda Jackson.

Shakespeare also continues to inspire modern writers as this season has also gifted us a sequel to his bloody drama Titus Andronicus in Taylor Mac's Gary, starring Nathan Lane,

To celebrate the birth of history's most gifted and prolific dramatist, check out another Bill-inspired Broadway hit, with Christian Borle as Shakespeare, and the company of Broadway's Something Rotten! performing, "It's Hard To Be The Bard."
