Theatre and film star Taye Diggs will appear on the January 5th episode of NBC's "Will and Grace."
Entitled "Von Trapped," the episode will feature its quartet of lead characters stuck in a The Sound of Music Sing-Along gone awry. Diggs will play James, a character who flirts with Will.
The Sing-Along "has come to town and no one is more excited than Grace (Debra Messing). She plans for her and Will (Eric McCormack) to attend the musical in character-like style by dressing up in costumes. However, her presumed-to-be fun night turns into a disaster when she ends up babysitting a group of children and Will accidentally goes to the wrong theater becoming further detained by James (guest star Taye Diggs), a handsome man he meets. Meanwhile, Karen (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes) try to flee when she gets in trouble with the theater's manager, who blocks off the exits, trapping everyone inside and forcing them to plot their escape," according to a description on NBC's website for the show, which often tosses in theatre references.
Diggs can currently be seen reprising his Broadway performance as Benny in the film version of Rent. His other theatre credits include the recent A Soldier's Tale, Carousel, Chicago and Wicked (to whose original star, />/>, he is married). Digg's film credits include Malibu's Most Wanted, Chicago, Brown Sugar, The Way of the Gun, House on Haunted Hill, The Best Man, The Wood, and How Stella Got Her Groove Back, his film debut.Idina Menzel
