Taye Diggs Joins Cast of Topher Grace's Upcoming Musical Comedy ONE SHOT

Taye Diggs is set to get back to his musical roots.

According to Deadline, the former Broadway star has signed on to join Topher Grace in his upcoming independant musical comedy ONE SHOT.

Production begins this month in Mexico City. The 'That '70's Show' star will portray "failed star turned stage manager (Grace) who must wrangle the eccentric cast and crew of a new production to save the show's opening night."

Diggs will take on the role of Malcolm, "a flamboyant member of the production."

The project will feature musical numbers, fantasy and real, take place. Greg Kinnear makes a cameo appearance.

Aside from playing Benjamin Coffin III in the original off-Broadway and Broadway productions of RENT, Diggs has appeared on the Great White Way in Wicked, Chicago and Carousel. His other off-Broadway credits include A Soldier's Play, The Wild Party and more. Diggs reprised his role in RENT in Christopher Columbus' film adaptation of the hit musical in 2005.

Diggs currently stars on TNT's crime drama MURDER IN THE FIRST, which was recently renewed for a second season.
