Tarzansetting a new box office record for the Richard Rogers Theatre, grossed $1,140,848 during the final week of 2006. The previous record was held by Tarzan with a gross of $919,950. 
 
From the producers of The Lion King and Beauty and the BeastTarzan is based on the Disney animated film and features music and lyrics by Phil Collins. Tarzan opened May 10, 2006 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Tarzan is presented by Disney Theatrical Productions (Thomas Schumacher, Producer). 
 
Tarzan celebrated its 250th performance on Broadway on Friday, December 15th. 
 
The original cast recording of Tarzan was released by Walt Disney Record and is available now at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, in music stores nationwide and at online retailers including Amazon, iTunes and Disney Shopping. 
 
The production stars Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester  Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Alex Rutherford and Dylan Riley Snyder alternate in the role of Young Tarzan
 
In addition to performances Wednesday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Thursday at 8:00PM, Tarzan plays five weekend performances: Friday at 8:00PM, Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM, and Sunday at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
