THE WOMEN IN THEATRE PROJECT to Play Spotlight New Works Festival at The Chain Theater
The musical features music by Jen Coogan and direction by Susan Boulanger, inspired by interviews with Daryl Roth and more.
THE SPOTLIGHT NEW WORKS FESTIVAL, will present The Women in Theatre Project on July 2nd and 4th, 2026. After a personal loss, an emerging composer sets out to rediscover her voice through the stories of women in theatre—and finds the courage to redefine her identity as an artist.
Inspired by interviews with notable women in theatre including: Daryl Roth, Jennifer Ashley Tepper, Mimi Lien, Ilana Levine, Earon Nealey, Lauren Gunderson, Dawn Chiang and Erin Merritt.
With music and lyrics by Jen Coogan, direction by Susan Boulanger, music direction by Melody Valdez, and stage management by Matt Coogan
Featuring Bekah Lynn Broas, Christina Swindlehurst Chan, Jessie MacBeth, Amarech Mendez, Cassidy Rose O'Brien, Madelyn Simon, Andrea Rae, May Simon Ramos, and Amy Webb
The Women in Theatre Project plays The Chain Theater (312 W. 36th St 4th floor) on July 2nd, at 4:30 pm. and July 4th, at 1:30 pm
