THE WEDDING SINGER Musical Will Come to Singapore From The Showstoppers
Directed by TJ Taylor, the Tony-nominated production will stage at Sing'theatre Academy in Singapore.
Following the success of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Sing'theatre Academy's premier adult musical theatre troupe, The Showstoppers, will return with the Tony-nominated Broadway musical, The Wedding Singer. Performances will run 19-31 May.
Directed by TJ Taylor, The Wedding Singer brings together a dynamic cast in a high-energy musical that captures the chaos, humour, and vulnerability of falling in love, often when you least expect it. With a fresh and heartfelt approach, the production balances comedy with sincerity, drawing out the individuality of each performer to create a show that feels both polished and deeply personal, a true reflection of the Showstoppers spirit.
Set in the colourful world of the 1980s, the story follows Robbie, a charming wedding singer whose life is thrown into disarray after being left at the altar. As he struggles to find his footing, he meets Julia, a kind-hearted bride-to-be who invites him to perform at her wedding. But when Robbie realises he has fallen for her, what unfolds is a whirlwind of comedy, heart, and a race against time to win her love before it's too late.
