The new play "The Goddess," which pointedly asks if monogamy is the essential ingredient of marriage, will host several talk-backs about marriage and open relationships during its four-week run from October 10 to November 3.

At the post show talk-backs a number of relationship experts and counselors, and even couples involved in open marriages, will debate the pros and cons of marriage openness. The events will take place after the performances of "The Goddess" on Thursday October 17 at 8pm, Sunday October 27 at 3pm and Halloween Thursday October 31 at 8pm.

The Halloween event will be a Key Party, in which several pre-selected couples in open relationships will allow themselves to be matched with other partners. Led by a distinguished relationship coach, the party will be observable by all audience members, however only legit open couples will take part.

"The Goddess" is written by the husband-and-wife duo of Justine Lambert and Kenneth Nowell, whose experiences as an open couple have informed the fictional comedy.

Produced by the Looking Glass Theatre, now in its 20th season, "The Goddess" is directed by Alice Jankell, the creative director of FAB Women. The cast of five features Tricia Alexandro, Richard Busser, Michael Kingsbaker, Claudia Mason, and Sarah Nedwek.

Says Jankell, "Throughout time we've asked ourselves about the battle between human order -- civilization -- and nature. Greek mythology tells us it is a battle that may never be won. Freudian analysis tells us that controlling our instincts causes anxiety, which in turn can lead to neurosis. Right now, we see the battle's collateral damage in the crisis of our ecology, and climate change. Suddenly we are asking ourselves with a new urgency, who is winning, man or nature?"

Performances are Thu through Sat at 8pm and Sun at 3pm through November 3. (No perf on Thur Oct 24; added perf on Sat October 26 at 4:30pm.) Tickets, which are $18, are now on sale and can be purchased in advance by calling 866/811-4111 or by visiting www.lookingglasstheatrenyc.com.
