Stages St. Louis Seeks All Roles for the 2011 Season

STAGES ST. LOUIS, the region's foremost not-for-profit musical theatre company will celebrate its' 25th Anniversary Season in 2011 and will be holding local auditions for St. Louis talent January 23, 26, 27, 28 and 29. The 2011 Season includes A Chorus Line, The Secret Garden, Victor/Victoria and the Theatre for Young Audience production of Disney's 101 Dalmatians.

On Sunday, January 23, 2011 STAGES Artistic Director, Michael Hamilton, will hold open children auditions at the STAGES Performing Arts Academy located at 444 Chesterfield Center, Chesterfield, MO 63017 for the roles of Mary Lennox and Colin Craven in The Secret Garden. The role of Mary Lennox requires a soprano female with a minimum age of 10 by May 1, 2011. The role of Colin Craven requires a soprano male, with an unchanged voice and a minimum age of 10 by May 1, 2011. Auditions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis sign-ups begin at 10:00 AM and Auditions begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Each role requires availability from July 5 through August 21.

Wednesday, January 26 through Saturday, January 29 STAGES Artistic Director, Michael Hamilton will hold adult auditions, by appointment only, at the Kirkwood Civic Center located at 111 S. Geyer Road, 3rd Floor, St. Louis, MO, 63122. Appointments can be made by calling 314.809.0846 M-F 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, beginning January 17.

All performers must be at least 18 years or older and bring a photo and resume. Be prepared to sing a MAXIMUM of 32 bars. You may prepare two contrasting pieces, but may not be asked to sing more than one, together they may not exceed the maximum 32 bars. No lead sheets; no transposition. An accompanist will be provided. Songs from the current season are fine. Open dance call auditionees should be ready to dance first and will sing only if asked. Bring tap, jazz, and character shoes.

Wednesday, January 26 - Equity appointments begin at 10:00 AM.

Thursday, January 27 - Open appointments begin at 10:00 AM.

Friday, January 28 - Open appointments begin at 10:00 AM.

Saturday, January 29 - Open dance call:

Women at 10:00 Am (Sign-ups begin at 9:00 AM)
Men at 3:00 PM (Sign-ups begin at 2:00 PM)
