Dramatists Guild Of America's President John Weidman, Vice President Marsha Norman, Secretary David Ives and Treasurer Jonathan Reynolds have all announced that they are stepping down from their positions.

Composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz has been selected to become the new President, while Peter Parnell will take over as Vice president, Doug Wright as Secretary, and Theresa Rebeck as Treasurer.

A statement was issued by Weidman that said "It's been an honor to serve as president of this unique and essential organization and a pleasure to have collaborated for the last ten years with my vice-president, Marsha Norman. I look forward to continuing to serve the Guild under the able and exciting leadership of the new administration."

The Dramatists Guild of America was established over eighty years ago, and is the only professional association which advances the interests of playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists writing for the living stage. The Guild has over 6,000 members nationwide, from beginning writers to the most prominent authors represented on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in regional theaters.
