Sam Harris Set to Perform at Birdland, 2/1

Broadway, television and recording star Sam Harris returns to Birdland for a one-night-only event on Monday, February 1st at 7pm. Tickets will be $30 for side seating and $40 for center seating.

He will be performing an eclectic array of Broadway hits, standards and pop classics. Todd Schroeder will musically direct.

Harris first shot into the public eye as the "Star Search" icon and has found success as a Tony-nominated Broadway star, and a multi-million selling recording artist, selling out venues all over the country, including Carnegie Hall. He has appeared on numerous television shows and series including the CBS sitcom, "The Class."

On Broadway, he received a Drama Desk nomination for his role in the Tommy Tune-directed revial of GREASE, and a Drama League Award as well as Tony, Outer Critic's Circle and Drama Desk Award nominations for his work in Cy Coleman's Tony nominated musical THE LIFE. He's also appeared on Broadway in Mel Brooks' Tony Award winning musical THE PRODUCERS, in the national tour of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and in the musicals JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, CABARET, HAIR, and PIPPIN. He also starred in self-penned shows HARDCOPY, DIFFERENT HATS, REVIVAL and his critically acclaimed show, SAM. Harris' most recent theatrical outing was the film-to-musical adaptation of THE FIRST WIVES CLUB seen in a limited run at San Diego's The Old Globe Theatre in the summer of 2009.

Birdland has been called "close to perfection for serious fans and musicians," by The New York Times and is located at 315 West 44th St. Between 8th and 9th avenues in Manhattan.
