Samantha Massell and Monica Swayne are currently both playing the role of Hodel in two different productions of Fiddler on the Roof, Swayne in Sydney, Australia and Massell on Broadway! The two actresses decided to interview each other, asking questions about Fiddler and more. Check out the video!

Samantha made her Broadway debut at age 12 in Baz Luhrmann's production of Puccini's La Boheme. Most recently, Samantha originated the role of Florika and understudied Esmeralda in the US Premiere productions of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Paper Mill Playhouse and La Jolla Playhouse. At the St. Louis MUNY, Samantha starred as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, Rapunzel in Into the Woods opposite TONY winner Heather Headley, and Ursula in Bye Bye Birdie. Off-Broadway, she has appeared in the New York City Center Encores! productions of Little Me and It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman.Film/TV: Beatbox, ZUG, How to Be a Man. Samantha started her career in the children's chorus of The New York City Opera, where she appeared in a number of productions and made her soloist debut as Elizabeth in The Ballad of Baby Doe. Samantha is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The University of Michigan, where she double majored in Musical Theater and English.

Monica grew up in Adelaide, South Australia where she trained extensively in all areas of performing arts from a very young age. Monica is a graduate of MOD Performing Arts, Melbourne 2009. Musical Theatre credits include Jeannie Muldoon in Nice Work If You Can Get It (The Production Co.); The Australasian 10th anniversary tour of WICKED where she understudied and performed the role of Glinda and Nessarose (GFO); the Australian and New Zealand tours of Mary Poppins in which she understudied and performed the role of Mary Poppins (Disney and CML); the Australian tour of Jerome Robbins' West Side Story in which she understudied and performed the role of Maria (Ambassador Theatre Group). She also performed in The Production Company's Australian premiere of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and their revival of Anything Goes (State Theatre, Melbourne). Theatre credits include Steve Vizard and Paul Grabowsky's The Last Man Standing (Melbourne Theatre Company). Monica is honoured to be performing the role of Hodel in this production of Fiddler On The Roof.
