At Wesleyan University, IN THE HEIGHTS creator Lin-Manuel Miranda first brought his piece to the stage. The production featured the talents of - Nina: Aileen Payumo; Benny: GAbe Cohen-DeVries; Alma (Benny's mom!): Yi-Lo Yu; Lincoln (Nina's Brother!): Raphael Santiago; Usnavi: Julio Pabón; Vanessa: Sabina Neugebauer; Kevin: David Martinez; Camila: Dawn Papacena; and Ensemble: Katie Takayanagi and Mike Padilla.

As they say, the rest is history, and the production seen here would go on to change, evolve, and eventually collect four 2008 Tony Awards - including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

Miranda himself says of the clip featured below: "Nina Rosario's first song in my first draft of In The Heights, which I directed at Wesleyan University's '92 Theater. In this draft, Nina is on her way home from her first year at Yale. For the lyrics to this song, go to Linmanuel.com/blog."
