SHOWSTOPPER! THE IMPROVISED MUSICAL Will Have A Limited Run At London's The Other Palace

Showstopper! The Improvised Musical will play a strictly limited eight-week run at The Other Palace from Tuesday 22 January, delivering 8 brand new completely spontaneous musicals every week, alongside their regular monthly performances in the West End's Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. During the run the company will celebrate their 1000th unique, one-of-a-kind performance.

With eleven years as an Edinburgh Festival must-see phenomenon, a critically acclaimed West End run and the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family Show to their name, The Showstoppers have blazed a trail in world class improvised comedy and delighted audiences across the globe.

Transforming audience suggestions - for setting, musical styles, show title and more - into all-singing, all-dancing productions with hilarious results, The Showstoppers guarantee audiences an entirely different show every single night as each performance is a brand-new musical West End hit waiting to happen.

At The Other Palace 100 tickets are available at every show for £25 or under.

At the Lyric Theatre 300 tickets are available at every show for £25 or under.

Showstopper! The Improvised Musical is produced at The Other Palace by Showstopper Productions, Suzanna Rosenthal Ltd and Julie Clare Productions, by arrangement with James Seabright and Julius Green for Showstopper London Ltd.

The show began life in 2008 as a workshop at the Actors' Centre in London, when Dylan Emery, Adam Meggido and Ken Campbell took a group of actors with little or no improvisation experience and within a week attempted to get them to perform an hour-long extemporised musical in front of a packed house.

This was such a success that Dylan and Adam decided to gather together a group of professionals and create a fully-fledged show. For eleven consecutive years The Showstoppers have played the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and have now made their home there in the 750-seat Pleasance Grand. They have received high acclaim for their performances and awards include: Chortle Best Character, Improv or Sketch Act 2016, The Times Best of the Fringe and Mervyn Stutter's Spirit of The Fringe Award.

In the Autumn of 2015 Showstopper! The Improvised Musical became the first longform improv show to have a full run in the West End at the Apollo Theatre. Then in April 2016, the show became the first improv show ever to be nominated, and subsequently win, an Olivier Award.
