The West Bank Café has announced the October 2006 line-up of live entertainment, to be presented in The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

 


"This October, the theatre is proud to announce an exciting and eclectic line-up of performers and performances, all of which will take place in the gorgeous eighty seat venue," state notes.

 

The schedule is as follows:

 

Monday, October 2, 9, 16, 23 @ 7pm

"New Mondays" – The Storefront Theatre is pleased to announce the return of "New Mondays," their award-winning series debuting new work from composers and lyricists both new and legendary. $12 cover.

 

Fridays, October 6 and 13 @ 9pm

Jenna Esposito: I Hate Men: Songs for the Scorned - "Come share the misery, the heartache and yes, the fun!" Music director is Fortune Esposito, director is Erv Raible. With Fortune Esposito on guitar, Richard Schacher on piano, Steve Doyle on bass and guest vocalist Kelly Esposito-Broelmann. $16 cover.

 

Fridays, October 13, 20, 27 @ 7pm

Julie Reyburn in Everybody's Song –"Reyburn teams up with her long time collaborator and musical director, Mark Janas, for three encore performances of this brand new show.  Everybody's Song is Julie's unique take on the standard and contemporary American Songbook, featuring classics ranging from Jimmy Van Heusen and Harold Arlen to Dar Williams and Burt Bacharach."  Featuring George Trapp on cello. $16 cover.

 

Sundays, October 1 and 15 @ 7pm

Mr. Fabulous – Written by Bill Russell (Tony-nominated lyricist of Side Show) and Steve Saari. "In the mid-seventies, a flamboyant entertainer known as Mister Fabulous displays his incredible prowess at the keyboard and his flair for outrageous costumes at the Galaxy Showroom of the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas. Backstage, he meets with Tom, a handsome young man who becomes part of the glamorous life of hob knobbing with celebrities and over-the-top spending. But can Mister Fabuous ever publicly acknowledge their increasingly intimate relationship?" Also starring Michael Mahany. $15 cover.

 

Saturday, October 21 @ 11pm

"Brandon and Ray's Birthday Bash" – a New York tradition! "Join Award-winning cabaret artist Brandon Cutrell, and musical director extraordinaire Ray Fellman (off-Broadway's Captain Louie) as they celebrate their joint birthdays in a one night only blowout." Featuring guest performers: Lisa Asher (Stranded in the Moonlight), Alvin Crawford (Broadway's The Lion King), Suzanne Fiore, Julie Reyburn (Everybody's Song), Anne Runolfsson (Broadway's Phantom of the Opera), Elizabeth Stanley (upcoming Broadway revival of Company), Alysha Umphress (The After Party), John Wasiniak (Broadway's Phantom of the Opera) and Gusty Winds. $10 cover.

 

Sunday, October 22 @ 4pm

Audrey Lavine in "Booze and Blues" – "Multi Award-winning actress and vocalist Audrey Lavine takes to the stage of the Beechman as part of our brunch series, featuring one afternoon only performances from some of our favorite artists." "Booze & Blues" features standards such as "Mood Indigo," "Serenade in Blue" and "You Go to My Head," side by side with rarely heard paeans to grain, grape and the low-down life. The singer promises "a cocktail of song." Says Lavine, "If you feel so blue you need a drink, you might as well sing about it…." Ross Patterson at the piano. $45 for brunch and show, or $20 for show only.

 

Sundays, October 22 and 29 @ 7pm

Liz McCartney – McCartney, who created the role of Big Sue in Broadway's Taboo and has also appeared on the Great White Way in Mamma Mia!, Thoroughly Modern Millie and Dance of the Vampires, brings her new cabaret show to The Laurie Beechman for two special performances only. $20 cover.

 

October 27 @ 9pm

Richard Malavet in "Forever Yours" – "Celebrated cabaret artist Richard Malavet takes to our stage in a brand new show featuring an eclectic mix of standard (Kern, Loesser) and contemporary music (Ahrens and Flaherty) and even a few Spanish boleros thrown in!" Ross Patterson at the piano, and featuring a stellar instrumental quartet. $16 cover.

 

October 30 @ 7pm

Steven Lutvak – "Multiple Award-winning vocalist/instructor/composer, Steven Lutvak (who most recently penned the title song to the hit film, Mad Hot Ballroom), returns to the cabaret stage to share music from his upcoming projects, as well as his memorable standards. Always a sell out!" Purchase tickets early! $25 cover. *

 

Every Friday at 10:30pm

The After Party - "We continue our weekly open-mic schmoozefest for the theatrically inclined, hosted by iron-lunged Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umpress, with Ray Fellman at the keys. Come hang and belt out a showtune or two." No cover, no minimum.
