The ETC Theatre Company and Encore Entertainment Productions are pleased to present Joe McDonald?s Reed in the Wind, directed by Tom Holmes. Reed in the Wind will play five performances only at the Sonnet Theatre in the Producer?s Club (358 West 44th St. New York 10036.) Performances are June 27 through June 30. Press are invited to all performances.

Michael and Kate Nolan?s lives are forever changed when their parents perish in a fiery death. Ostracized by their community, the siblings? unique relationship is challenged by the web of religious, social, and economic morass of life in early 1900?s Ireland. In Reed in the Wind, as the Nolan family disintegrates, the characters struggle to survive while seeking the truth - an adventure of the human kind.

The production stars Heather Snow Clark (Made-Over for Love, Why do you smoke so much, Lily, Jesus? Blood) as Kate Nolan, Nic Tyler* (A Night of the Iguana, Hamlet, Dancing at Lughnasa) as Michael Nolan, Douglas B. Giorgis* (Ten Nights in a Barroom, Pride and Prejudice) as Peter Mallon, and Bob Adrian* (US Tour of Doubles, Twelve Monkeys, Jungle Fever, Basketball Diaries), as The Priest.

The production features scenic and costume design by Casper de la Torre.

Reed in the Wind plays the following schedule:

Saturday June 27 at 8 p.m.
Sunday June 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Monday June 29 at 8 p.m.
Tuesday June 30 at 8 p.m.

Joe McDonald (Playwright) of Orangeburg, New York, has written over 30 plays many of which have been produced Off-Off Broadway in NYC. Among them are Women of Armagh, Pieces of Lightning, Without Warning! and The Whistle Blower. McDonald?s recently produced work includes his 2-act play, A Reed in the Wind at the Abingdon Theatre in NYC, as well as his one-act, Death in Black and White, produced at the Parker Theatre in NYC and at the Shades Repertory Theatre in Haverstraw, NY. He has also adapted A Tale of Two Cities in collaboration with Composer Rob Hoover, which received a LORT production at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack, NY, and has recently finished his original book for Rasputin, The Musical again in collaboration with Rob Hoover, Composer/Lyricist. His most immediate projects are an adaptation of Liam O?Flaherty?s classic novel, The Informer and Situation Managment a two act play dealing with sex slave trafficking.

TOM HOLMES (Director) last project was, John Wyeth?s Beiderbecke?s Last Drunk for Love Creek Productions. Other directing credits include: Eugene O?Neil?s Beyond The Horizon, John Wyeth?s Freddie?s Big Deal, Christopher Durang?s Naomi In the Living Room, Le Wilhelm?s You Don?t Have to Go to Kansas City to Meet the Devil, Frederick Stroppel?s Morning Coffee, Warren Schults? DatingDotCom and MyManSpam. He was Assistant Director for Le Wilhelm?s The Shattering of the Golden Pane that appeared at the 59E59 Series. He would like to thank Estelle Parsons, Deborah Dixon and Brenda Hearing at The Actors Studio for help on this production as well as Le Wilhelm and Kathy Towson at Love Creek/RCL. He is a past Samuel French 1-Act festival winner, directing Frederick Stroppel?s Single and Proud.
