Playful Substance to Present BAROMETRIC PRESSURE Reading at The Old Stone House

The Old Stone House continues its tradition of highlighting local arts and culture with Reading Resistance: The May Marathon on Saturday May 30th-  a day-long event featuring emerging Brooklyn playwrights curated by New York Independent Theatre Award winning multi-disciplinary artist, Theresa Linnihan.

Playful Substance will participate in the May Marathon with a reading of Barometric Pressure by Bree O'Connor.

It's 1986 and hotter'n Hades on a hot plate when Tammy Gustafson arrives home with groceries and a lasagna dinner for her husband and teenage daughter. It isn't long before she discovers a pile of overdue bills, her nice throw blankets smellin' like the hogs out back, and an unwanted house guest. Before the sun sets, the Gustafsons unwittingly play host to both literal and metaphorical storms that threaten their family, home, livelihood and the soul of the United States of America.

Barometric Pressure is one of 6 new plays featured in the May Marathon. A $20 ticket guarantees patrons a seat at one or all of the readings on May 30th as well as free refreshments. The schedule includes:

1:00 PM: Hidden Hallows and Wash by John P. McEneny

3:00 PM: Barometric Pressure by Bree O'Connor

6:00 PM: Homecoming and 99 Bottles of Beer by Beth Harpaz

8:00 PM: En Mer Avec Louise Bourgeois by Michelle Beshaw
