The Flying Machine will present the world-premiere of its newest work, Journey to the End of the Night with previews beginning January 8, prior to an official press opening of January 10 at the Gene Frankel Theater (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and the Bowery).

Journey to the End of the Night -- directed by Joshua Carlebach (Drama Desk nominee for his direction of the company's production of Frankenstein, produced by Soho Rep in 2005) -- is adapted from the life and best-known novel of the 20th-century existentialist author, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, a revered and controversial writer who suffered enmity and rejection for his political beliefs during World War II.    The Flying Machine production of Journey to the End of the Night, with text adapted by Jason Lindner, intersects the story of its author Céline with that of his antihero Ferdinand Bardamu during the First World War and its aftermath.  His later dubiously motivated actions, however, may have erased this hard won artistic title and closed the history books on one of this century's greatest literary gems.

Richard Crawford is the featured performer in this solo-play adaptation of Journey to the End of the Night.

The design team for Journey to the End of the Night is Anna Kiraly (Set Designer), Anjeanette Stokes (Lighting Designer), Zach Williamson (Sound Designer), and Olivera Gajic (Costume Designer).

Scheduled January 8 – 26 at the Gene Frankel Theater (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and the Bowery) Journey to the End of the Night will perform Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2:00pm (with no performance on Tuesday, January 15). Tickets are $20 by calling TheaterMania at 212-352-3101.  For additional details, please visit www.theflyingmachine.org
