The Yard Theatre is delighted to announce the premiere of Buggy Baby, a new play written by Josh Azouz and directed by the award-winning Ned Bennett. It runs from 7-31 March at The Yard.

Buggy Baby is a horror comedy following three migrants in a damp room in East London, trying to escape past trauma and navigate life as recent arrivals in a new country. Hoda Bentaher plays Nur, Jasmine Jones plays Baby Aya and Noof McEwan plays Jaden. Tom Clegg and Abrahim Jarman complete the cast. Design is by Max Johns.

It marks writer Josh Azouz's return to The Yard after the widely-acclaimed "strange and fascinating" The Mikvah Project in 2015 (**** Time Out, The Stage). Ned Bennett is a UK Theatre Best Director award-winner whose previous work has won an Evening Standard Award (An Octoroon), transferred to the National Theatre twice (Pomona, An Octoroon) and been described as "unforgettable" (The Observer on Yen), "extraordinary and virtuosic" (Time Out on Pomona) and "bizarrely brilliant" (The Guardian on An Octoroon).

Director Ned Bennett: "Josh Azouz is an utterly original voice. His unique imagination and compassion towards his characters, combined with The Yard's bombast, make this an exciting adventure."

Writer Josh Azouz: "Ned Bennett is going to make this show into a darkly funny firework of an evening. Some moments might shock and stun, but the audience at The Yard expect a challenge. We won't disappoint."

The Yard's Artistic Director Jay Miller: "Josh's play The Mikvah Project remains one of audiences' favourite experiences at The Yard, and I have no doubt that Buggy Baby is going to offer the same blend of imagination, humour and humanity. I am beyond excited that his work is back on our stage and can't wait see what Ned Bennett makes of this wild show."
