Photo Flash: Cheryl Bentyne Comes to BROADWAY AT BIRDLAND

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present veteran jazz vocalist Cheryl Bentyne, who celebrated her new CD, reARRANGEMENTS OF SHADOWS, a tribute to Stephen Sondheim.
In her Birdland concert, Ms. Bentyne was accompanied by Yaron Gershovsky on piano, Matt Aronoff on bass, Clint De Ganon on drums and Aaron Weinstein on violin. Highlights of the show included a fresh arrangement of "I Remember," a "Killer Joe"-inspired "Ladies Who Lunch," and from the unproduced movie musical "Singing Out Loud," "Sand."
On reARRANGEMENTS OF SHADOWS, vocalist Cheryl Bentyne re-imagines songs by the iconic Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim. Widely known for her 38 years as part of the renowned vocal group The Manhattan Transfer, Bentyne has over a dozen solo CDs under her own name as well as several collaborative projects with other singers and instrumentalists.
