Beijing Playhouse's production of the intimate Broadway musical I Do! I Do! comes to the Beijing stage May 14-23, 2010. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm. Sunday matinees at 2 pm. Performed in English with Chinese subtitles. It's a fun, lighthearted, heartwarming show for the whole family.
The hilarious and intimate two-character musical I Do! I Do! spans fifty years focusing on the trials and tribulations experienced by Agnes and Michael throughout their marriage. The couple weathers wedding jitters, a new house, raising a family, sexual tension, midlife crises, quarrels, separation, reconciliation, and growing old together. Fantastic family fun with a charming, endearing score.
Beijing Playhouse, China's English Broadway Theatre, has presented such Broadway favorites as the musical Guys and Dolls, Love Letters, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Neil Simon's hilarious comedy The Odd Couple, and annual holiday traditions such as A Christmas Carol and The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge.
