Original Sci-Fi Sports Comedy Musical Blasting Off At SoHo Playhouse This Fall ImageRobot Teammate is delighted to announce their NYC debut with the original sci-fi musical comedy TURBULENCE!, coming to the SoHo Playhouse Fringe Encore Series October 13-22. TURBULENCE! won Best Musical, Best World Premiere, Critics' Choice, and A Little New Music's Award for Outstanding Songwriting at the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Founded in 2012, Robot Teammate has established itself as one of Los Angeles' top musical comedy groups, wowing crowds by creating improvised musicals based on audience suggestions at LA ComicCon, UCB LA, on Geek & Sundry's Twitch.TV channel, and many more venues throughout the Southwest.

TURBULENCE! was initially conceived as an improvisation at Impro Theatre in Los Feliz, CA, in 2016, and the book, lyrics, and music were refined through collaborative writing sessions with Robot Teammate in early 2017.

Centered on the game-changing Intergalympics of 4242, rival planets Earth and Mars must compete in a high-speed, high-stakes race through space. Can resource-strapped Team Earth survive against all odds? Find out in TURBULENCE!, a fast and farcical, award-winning original sci-fi musical comedy. Ready. Set. Space!

The cast features the Robot Teammate ensemble, including Chris Bramante, Miles Crosman, Molly Dworsky, Sam Johnides, Branson NeJame, Kat Primeau, and Dave Reynolds. Book and lyrics by Robot Teammate, with Miles Crosman serving as head writer, direction by Lauren Pritchard, choreography by Kat Primeau, and musical direction by Sam Johnides. The live band features Sam Johnides, Branson NeJame, Christopher Sousa, and Sam Kirsch. The TURBULENCE! poster was created by illustrator Monica M. Magaña.

Performances will take place at SoHo Playhouse (located at 15 Vandam St., NY, NY 10013). The show is family-friendly (ages 10+), contains flashing lights, and runs 60 minutes. Tickets start at $24 and are available here: www.sohoplayhouse.com
