Bajir Cannon THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE APPLE AND THE TREE
Escaping both his family and his American upbringing, Will Jr. looks for a new life in Cambodia. Joining a religious community, he searches for a spiritual explanation of the world around him, finding instead only fractional and conflicting solutions. He begins to question the purpose of his time abroad and the relationships he has formed and broken since leaving his family. In New Jersey, Will Sr. and Linda are struggling with their son's departure. Will Sr. cannot grasp the selfishness and ingratitude his son has demonstrated - a fixation that exacerbates his heart condition and strains his marriage. Linda, while trying to understand her son's choice and comfort her husband, is forced into mediating the conflict between the two men in her life.
