New Footage From THE LION KING And ALADDIN Debuts At CinemaCon

This week Disney teased some of its most anticipated projects at CinemaCon 2019. Among the footage were clips from the forthcoming live ACTION adaptations of The Lion King and Aladdin.

According to Variety, Aladdin's Genie has got a few new (and familiar) tricks up his sleeve for his latest trip to the big screen in the hands of Will Smith.

His roof-raising introductory number "Friend Like Me" now sports some "elaborate" flourishes including the genie going toe-to-toe with sword-wielding thieves, morphing his hand into a marionette, and finishing with a modern twist, instructing the audience to "clap now" performing a mic drop.

Audiences were also treated to an extended five-minute look at Jon Favreau's The Lion King.

The preview featured Simba and Mufasa surveying The Pride Lands, with James Earl Jones delivering the now-iconic wisdom, ""Look, Simba, everything the light touches is our kingdom... A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here, and will RISE with you as the new king."

The clip was met with enthusiastic applause.
