John Hill, who opened in his one-man show Skinny Corpse on May 15th, may be heading from the Duplex to television.

"MTV has given the official go ahead to shoot the pilot he's creating. John has had to fly to Virginia for the next week or so. Stay tuned for more information," state press notes.

In place of Skinny Corpse this week (Monday, May 22nd at 9:30 pm), Scott Nevins and Natalie Joy Johnson will appear in a rare joint performance at The Duplex. Nevins will preview his forthcoming comedy act and Natalie will perform a range of familiar pop songs and showtunes.

Skinny Corpse performances will resume at the Duplex at 9:30 pm on Monday, June 5th.

Award-winning Host and TV/Radio personality Scott Nevins has hosted over 300 live events, and has collected a roster of celebrity interviews to rival a seasoned veteran twice his age. In addition to TV appearances on Style Network, Logo, Fuse TV and more, he filmed Up Close & Personal with Kimberley Locke, where he interviewed the "American Idol" star for a soon-to-be-released DVD. He headlined his own recurring show at Caroline's on Broadway, and hosted and produced the popular talent search "XL Star" at XL lounge in NYC. Among many other hosting credits are several for
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids--"Broadway Delivers!," "Curtain Call For Carolers" (in the middle of NYC's Times Square), "Standing Ovations 2," "Detroit Concert For A Cure," and "Broadway Barks!," among others.

Johnson received acclaim for her breakout Off Broadway debut as Nadia in Bare: A Pop Opera and recently made her solo debut backed by Our Lady J and The Pink Champagne Orchestra featuring The Bubblies in a sold out concert at Joe's Pub. She has reprised this act at The Cutting Room and will bring a new version to Ars Nova July 22nd and 31st. Other recent roles include the NY Musical Theatre Festival's hit production of But I'm a Cheerleader (Sinead), Move It and It's Yours, Joy (Kegan), Slut (Mrs. Winterbottom), and the 2001 National Touring production of Godspell (cast recording available on DRG Records). Earlier this year, Johnson collaborated with Adam Fleming and Jonah Speidel on their Feinstein's at the Regency debut - "Postponed Indefinitely." She has been a featured soloist in various concerts and benefits around Manhattan, including such venues as Birdland, the Palace Theatre, the New Amsterdam Theatre and the Iridium Jazz Club.

Audiences can see both Nevins and Johnson for a $10 cover (plus two drink minimum). Call the Duplex at 212.255.5438 for reservations.
