Ars Nova will present three special encore performances of last season's hit Holy Cross Sucks!, a comic journey through those unforgettable years of high school, starring Rob Nash as an ensemble cast that includes "The Virgin," "The Homo," "The Punk," "The Nerd," "The Fat Kid," and "The Slut."
Directed by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun, the show will play three return engagements-- June 21 at 2 PM, June 21 at 8 PM and June 22 at 7 PM at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street)."In the spirit of such teen film classics as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Holy Cross Sucks! follows a group of unlikely friends as they navigate those painful, life-defining, and often humiliating years. We're never as vulnerable and as vicious, as beautiful and as ugly, as idealistic and apathetic, as vain and as humble as when we're adolescents. Playing a full cast of beloved and reviled characters, Nash explores these paradoxes with biting humor, insight, and a killer soundtrack," state press notes.Nash has performed internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Montreal Comedy Festival. His work has been produced at regional theaters including Stages in Houston, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Carolina Theater in Durham, VORTEX in Austin, The Cable Car in San Francisco, and Velvet Elvis Arts Lounge in Seattle, among others.Videos
