NY Phil's Magnus Lindberg to Participate in Free 'Offstage' Event, 6/28

The Marie-Josee Kravis Composer-in-Residence at the New York Philharmonic - will be interviewed by WQXR 105.9 FM host Jeff Spurgeon in New York Philharmonic Offstage at the David Rubenstein Atrium, Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 8:30 p.m.

Philharmonic Acting Associate Principal Clarinet PascuAl Martinez Forteza, cellist Sumire Kudo, and guest pianist StEve Beck will perform works including Magnus Lindberg's Trio for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano (2008). New York Philharmonic Offstage events are free and seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

This season marks the third and final season in Mr. Lindberg's residency at the New York Philharmonic. The Orchestra has performed four World Premiere–New York Philharmonic Commissions by Mr. Lindberg, most recently in May 2012 with the premiere of his Piano Concerto No. 2, featuring pianist Yefim Bronfman as soloist and Music Director Alan Gilbert, The Yoko Nagae Ceschina Chair, as conductor. During Mr. Lindberg's tenure, the Philharmonic has performed several of his earlier seminal works, including the U.S. premiere of his 2002 Clarinet Concerto (at Carnegie Hall in February 2010) and the New York premiere of 1985 Kraft (in sold-out concerts in October 2010).
The David Rubenstein Atrium is located at Broadway between 62nd and 63rd Streets. Guaranteed
