A private industry reading of Insult to Injury will take place on Friday, July 11 in Manhattan. Insult to Injury has book and lyrics by Maura M. Knowles and music by Nathania Wibowo. The reading will be directed by Joe Barros (Artistic Director of New York Theatre Barn, New York Innovative Theatre Award nominee for Hard Times).

Insult to Injury, a new play with music, examines why we should never give up on angels or anyone with broken wings. The piece is inspired by actual events drawn from bookwriter/lyricist Maura M. Knowles' past. Knowles also plays the title character Mo which is a version of herself.

Insult to Injury was selected and performed at the award-winning and critically acclaimed Western Stage Theatre's Playwright's Festival this past April in Salinas, California.

Joining Knowles in the cast of the reading are LaDonna Burns, Sarah Corey, Diane J. Findlay (Sister Act), T.J. Mannix, and Luis Villabon (Reefer Madness).

The private reading will be performed on Friday, July 11 at 2:30pm in Manhattan. For more information and to RSVP, please contact: Maura.Knowles@gmail.com. A confirmation email will disclose the location of the reading. The reading runs approximately 90 minutes.
