Broadway Star Matt Cavenaugh (West Side Story, Grey Gardens) will offer a musical theatre master class on Monday, May 16th from 6:00 to 10:00pm at the Davenport Studio in Midtown Manhattan.

In this intimate class, participants will have the opportunity to perform and then work with Mr. Cavenaugh one-on-one to develop song interpretation, vocal technique, and overall performance. The class will conclude with a Q&A session.

About Matt Cavenaugh

Matt Cavenaugh, a native Arkansan, was most recently seen on Broadway as Tony in the 2009 revival of West Side Story. He was nominated for both an Outer Critics and Drama Desk Award for his performance. Previous Broadway credits include Grey Gardens, playing both Joe Kennedy Jr. and Jerry Torre (known affectionately as "the marble faun"), and A Catered Affair. Matt made his Broadway debut as Bud in the musical version of the film, Urban Cowboy. He has traveled the country in the national tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie, and worked at numerous regional theatres including L.A. Reprise, The Old Globe, La Jolla Playhouse, Williamstown Theatre Festival, George Street Playhouse, The GoodSpeed Opera House and The Denver Center among others. TV/Film credits include: As The World Turns, One Life to Live, Sexual Dependency and New Brooklyn. Original cast recordings include West Side Story, Grey Gardens (on and off-Broadway), and A Catered Affair. Matt's debut album, Gonna Make You Love Me, a collaboration with his wife, Jenny Powers, will soon be released in April 2011. Matt serves on the advisory board of Early Stages, a not-for-profit organization fostering literacy through the arts in the New York City public school system.
