MOTOWN's N'Kenge Set for Free 'POP TO PUCCINI' Concert, 11/17

N'Kenge (Motown: The Musical, Sondheim on Sondheim), reunites with Music Director Benet Braun to perform a free program singing musical selections ranging from the Pop to Puccini. The Concert will be held on Monday Nov 17 at 6:30PM at the Queens Central Library Auditorium in Jamaica.

The program will be dedicated to the memory of N'Kenge's Dad Martin Hoffman who was a Math Professor at Queens College for over 25 years. NY Times describes N'Kenge as a "classically trained diva that can stretch from Broadway, Pop, Soul to Opera". Audience members attending will be treated to a variety of Whitney Houston hits, Puccini classics to Broadway favorites from Wicked, Motown: The Musical and many more.

When asked by Queens Library correspondent whether she prefers one genre of music over another, N'Kenge responded "I actually like the versatility of switching back and forth. I'm not sure what I would do if I was forced to choose just one, although I've been in situations where people have tried to make me choose...each genre has its own uniqueness and love them all!" The New York Post called N'Kenge "Electrifying" in the role of 'Mary Wells' in Broadway's Motown: The Musical, and she made her Broadway debut in Sondheim on Sondheim alongside Vanessa Williams, Barbara Cook and Norm Lewis. N'Kenge made her West End debut starring in The Genius of Ray Charles. N'Kenge made her Carnegie Hall debut with the New York Pops Orchestra and has given over 100 solo recitals worldwide singing in 11 languages.
